Introduction to Anark

Programs Needed:
  • 3D Studio Max or Maya
  • Anark studio
  • AMX plugin for Maya

3D Max Users

 

 

 

 

 

Maya Users

 

  • Export as a .3ds into Anark Studio
  • A .3ds file embeds your textures while a .AMX does not
  • You will need an .AMX plugin for Maya or export as a .3ds file
  • Deep Exploration will export your Maya Binary file as a .3ds file which seems to work better embedding your textures
With this Tutorial I expect that you already know the basics of 3D Max or Maya

Step 1. First Create a model

(I will be using Maya and a model I already created)

Step 2. Then Texture your Model.

  • Anark recognizes almost all standard textures (blinn, lambert, etc.) although blinn seems to work the best

Step 3. Combine your model and export it

(Do not group your model. Anark does not like groups!)

Deep Exploration

  • The best way to do this is to open Deep Exploration and export your model as a .3DS

AMX Plugin

  • If you are going to use the AMX plugin you need to load the plugin To load the plugin go to Window-> Settings/Preferences plug in manager-> autoload .AMX plugin
  • Once you have it loaded, go to export and select .amx as your format.
